Westside Building Material was originally founded in West Los Angeles, California in 1935.  During WWII Westside moved to Culver City, CA and in 1953 a new branch was opened in Anaheim, CA.  As Orange County grew, so did the Anaheim branch.  It soon outpaced the Culver City location in sales.  By the late 1960’s Culver City was closed and the Anaheim branch began to flourish.  This location began a steady period of growth with an emphasis on the metal framing and drywall business.  Under the leadership of Dick Peckham (3rd generation owner) and Ron Huff, Westside developed a great reputation for stocking building material in commercial buildings.

 

In 1987, we moved to our present location on Howell Ave in Anaheim.  By the late 1980’s Tony Lee joined the company and brought additional contacts and experience in the commercial drywall and plaster construction trades.  By the mid 1990’s Bill Peckham (4th generation owner) joined the company and he is the current CEO.

 

Westside carries a huge inventory of construction material servicing the drywall, plaster, acoustical, insulation, fireproofing, mechanical, electrical and plumbing trades.  Our fleet of trucks and investment in material handling equipment is unparalleled.

 

This branch continues to flourish and is the single largest wall and ceiling dealer on the West Coast.  We pride ourselves on our commercial project know-how and have a reputation for being fair, honest and always getting the job done right.  We are a family run company and many of Westside’s employees have been with us for more than 20 years.  Our customer base is the most loyal in the industry.  Our customers know that they can always count on Westside Building Material.
